Start Winter Warehouse Prep Today!

As the seasons turn, the challenges for your warehouse change with them.  Gone are the long days and high temperatures of summer, and the early dark and freezing temps of winter are closer than they appear.  When you run a warehouse, it's imperative that you stay ahead of the curve on the weather.  Here's some tips for getting your warehouse ready for the winter.

Shut The Doors

The huge open doors that every warehouse needs are a liability when it comes to maintaining the health and comfort of your employees in the warehouse.  They do a great job of letting you get your stock in and out, but they also do a great job of letting the heat out and bringing in cold air.  It's vital to ensure that the doors are equipped with large plastic strips to help keep that warm air from escaping.
They're easy to install and will save you money on heating, along with maintaining a consistent temperature.  Also, get your employees into the habit of closing these doors whenever possible.

Control The Flow
Even if you have perfectly placed heaters running full blast, you can still run into air flow issues.  Making the hot air in your warehouse run entirely in the direction that you want it to go may involve moving some racks.  If you have Tier-Rack Stack Racks, they're easy to move around the warehouse to maximize airflow.  If your racks are difficult to move, you may want to consider replacing them with more mobile racks, or wire frame racks that allow for better airflow.
This will help your warehouse stay warmer throughout the season.

More POWER
If these tips haven't fixed your heating issue, consider adding more heat.  It's not just giant industrial heaters that do the trick, though.  Walk the warehouse.  Find the coldest places and pick up portable heaters for your employees.  We've talked to companies that have made their employees BUY their own heaters.  Frankly, a cold warehouse is YOUR fault.  Don't compound the error by making your employees fix this themselves.
Also, look for areas that may not be covered, cracked windows, uninsulated areas, and fix them.  You'll be glad when the heating and a/c bills come.

Hopefully we've helped you with some tips to keep the warehouse warm this winter that you can implement NOW and get a head start.  If you're interested in transforming your warehouse more substantially, Tier-Rack can help! How To Keep Your Warehouse Safe

Warehouses are busy, buzzing hives of activity.  They are the heartbeat and lifeblood of your organization, moving your product quickly from one place to another, or helping to push your items out to customers.  The importance of being efficient can't be understated, but safety is even more pressing.  How to keep your warehouse safe is the question at the top of the mind of any great warehouse manager.

One way to keep your warehouse safe is to use stack racks made with real steel.  It's really important to know that your storage system will be solid for years, and Tier-Rack is the best at it.  Tier-Rack racks are made with the highest-quality steel and are built to last.  We also are the industry leader in rack engineering, and can help you build a safer and more efficient warehouse.

After you get your stackable racks, here are some other ways to maximize your space:
Be methodical when stacking items such that they are always in the same order, in a way that compliments each other. Doing this creates an order that allows easy retrieval, encouraging employees to more easily find items and to find them using the same, repeatable process, which creates efficiency over time. And, you are less likely to lose items and less likely to have spoilage of items that have a shorter shelf life while optimizing space available, which will create more shelf space for inventory storage.
Keep the space clean in your warehouse such that it is free of any unneeded items. If you organize your building in a way that maximises the given area, you can greatly improve the flow and efficiency of movement. More areas can be used when items are set in an area specifically designated for those items. The position and arrangement of the items greatly affects the available space given to you. A metric that is often used to measure this efficiency is “inventory turns.” The greater the number, the more times you are replenishing your inventory and making greater efficiency of your inventory space.
Think carefully and highly value every space used for any warehouse storage needs. If an item isn’t really needed to be stored locally, remove it. Only using space you truly need significantly improves the number of items you can fit in any given building, increasing efficiency and avoiding unnecessary expansion. Doing this can also help lower the cost for the maintenance and security of the facility you maintain.

Knowing your space and using it properly is the key to safe, efficient warehouse usage. Let us show you how our years of manufacturing experience can provide you with quality stack racks at a very affordable price. We buy steel tubing directly from the tube mills in truckload quantities. Then our talented and efficient teams in our low overhead production facilities transform the steel tubing into high quality portable racks that have been designed to meet your needs. Give us a chance to prove to you that nobody does it better than Tier-Rack! Whether you need 100,000 racks or 10 racks, Tier-Rack is your best choice. Avoid These Warehouse Mistakes

Every warehouse is different, with unique challenges and issues to deal with.  Two warehouses in the same industry, in the same BUILDING, can have drastically different operating and structural issues and challenges.

That being said, there are some constants to warehouse and storage management that can be applied across most operations.

Keep your records

No matter the size, warehouses have to keep a paper trail.  Knowing your inventory and where it’s going is vital to the health of the operation.  If you don’t hold on to your paperwork, there’s nothing telling you what happened in case of an issue with shipped products.

Overloading on product

Many companies feel that having too much product is OK, because it’s still potential sales, and they don’t want to get caught without product during a sale.  This line of thinking unfortunately leads to overbuying and excess stock languishing in the warehouse.

This eliminates crucial space that you could be using for your newer product lines, and stops you from optimizing your area.

Make obvious paths

In a warehouse, “picking paths” are hugely important.  Having a way for your employees to quickly and efficiently grab multiple items makes your warehouse really sing.  Finding a way to build this is critical.  You have to know what gets purchased together frequently, and what stacks well together, to maximize efficiency.  Plan for your employees and they’ll reward you with better productivity.

Housekeeping and safety

Maintaining a clean warehouse is paramount to having a safe, smoothly-operating warehouse.  Don’t let old pallets and garbage clog up your well-planned aisles and stacks.  You can plan out the perfect warehouse, but if it can’t be navigated because people are tripping over old wraps and forklifts are blocked by used boxes and pallets, what’s the point?

Make sure that housekeeping is a part of the daily ritual for the warehouse and reward it when completed.  Your workers deserve to work in a space where they won’t trip over junk or have boxes fall on their heads, but they also need to be a part of the process to maintain it.

Hopefully, making your warehouse clean and efficient will help you be more successful.  Tier-Rack can help as well.  We have experience designing custom racks and helping companies utilize their space, both in the horizontal AND the vertical.  We can help your company whether you’re moving in or redesigning.  Call us today at 800-325-7869 or visit www.tier-rack.com for more information.  Don’t live with frustrating racks and unusable space any more.

Tier-Rack Experts Can Redesign Your Warehouse

A new warehouse is exciting and frustrating.  You get all of this new space, sure, but how should it be laid out?  Is the building you can afford the one you require?  Will it have your amenities and space to grow?  The most important question though, is how to lay it out.  Here are a few factors to examine as you develop your warehouse layout.

Equipment Size: Will your production machinery need more space than you anticipate, between its footprint and the employees that use it?
Get LEAN: This is a great time to restructure your operation.  Talk to the employees on the floor.  Ask them what they would change, how they would lay things out.  They’re there every day, ask them what would make the process more streamlined.
Height: Make sure that you have some vertical space, but not too much.  Stack Racks make it easier to utilize this space, but too much and you’re heating and cooling space for no reason.
Aisles: Start with measuring the size of your lift trucks.  Then give them adequate space on each side to get through.  Sounds like common sense, but we’ve been asked to design racks for companies that didn’t plan ahead and couldn’t get their trucks through.
Department Matters: You’re banking on your business growing, so why not build out in a way that can help facilitate that?  Make sure that every department has the room it needs to grow.  Often, one part of the operation ends up shortchanged (usually receiving) and it hurts the entire operation.

This doesn’t take into account all of the EHS factors of course, but it’s a great way to start getting your warehouse organized.

Buy American Made Storage Racks

While there are any number of reasons to buy American-made products, including helping American companies, putting money back into the economy, and growing the job market, a reason that should hit closer to home for companies is quality.  American made racks, such as the Tire Racks manufactured by Tier-Rack Corporation, are built in manufacturing centers located here, ensuring quality.  As Tier-Rack designs, sells, and manufactures the racks here, customers can be assured that every step in the process is Made In America.

This extends to quality.  When a Tier-Rack sales rep or engineer tells you that their racks are 14 gauge, you can be assured that they will be.  Making sure that the racks are the correct weight ensures that you know that you have gotten the thickness and stability that you paid for.  Your engineer or sales rep can tell you the weight that your rack should be at, and the racks can be weighed, or stacked and weighed for an average to determine the gauge by weight.

Tier-Rack Corporation has been a leader in rack solutions and flexible warehouse racking systems for almost sixty years. The original Tier-RackR pallet stacking frame converts regular warehouse pallets into sturdy storage racks in seconds without screws or bolts. And the Load-NesterR all-steel storage rack features light and heavy duty models of solid all-welded, knock-down, or nestable designs for all your material handling needs.

Our portable stacking racks and rack systems are designed to handle and store even the most fragile, odd-shaped, and awkward merchandise. They can be designed to transport two loads at a time. Our stack racks reduce handling time, stack up to six high, and they are capable of supporting thousands of pounds per unit load. All Tier-Rack racks are engineered with a "2-to-1" safety factor to ensure the racks will perform safely and last for decades.  For more information, visit http://tier-rack.com today.

Industrial Machinery Tires Need Great Storage

When Industrial Machinery needs to move, what moves it?  Tires.  And these tires need to be up to snuff, especially when we're talking about large scale equipment, bulldozers, harvesters, shredders, wheel loaders, amd cherry pickers all need ways to store their tires and treads.  These are heavy duty, requiring a little bit more support and metal than typical tires need.

These racks require toughness that a typical rack doesn't need, giving them a heavier, sturdier feel than most tire racks.  Luckily Tier-Rack Corp has on site engineers specially trained to design these racks to stand up to the rigors that construction equipment tires put on them.  Whether its a construction company, a state office, or a supplier, Tier-Rack can develop a rack that suits your company and manufacture it in their local manufacturing plants here in the United States, using the highest quality parts and metal.

Since Tier-Rack is the designer, manufacturer, and seller of Tier-Rack stacking racks, they can assure you of the quality of their products.  This gives them a leg up in creating the perfect rack for any situation, particularly one in which precision is important, such as Industrial Machinery Tire Racks.

Since 1955, Tier-Rack Corp has used their Tier-Rack storage system to store tires, boxes, fabric, pipe, elecronics, bicycles, furniture, food, beverages, and almost any product that can be kept in a warehouse.  Any company that uses pallets can use this product, which stacks frames on top of your existing wood pallets to create vertical space. These will allow a company to stack 3 to 5 loads of crushable of fragile products, as well as awkward, non-stackable product.

When the frames aren't being utilized, they take up a small amount of space, folding down to conserve your precious warehouse space.

Tier Your Tire Racks For Space

Tire businesses across the world have a space problem. There aren't a lot of ways to keep tires stored that do no damage and are space efficient.  Stacking tires isn't effective, as it creates soft spots and wear patterns, and causes the tires to become lopsided and wobbly.  This makes mounting the tires difficult, and even dangerous.  Tires worn in patterns or that are lopsided can blow while driving, an extremely dangerous proposition.

Tier-Rack has solved this.  Warehouses and other businesses that need to store tire racks vertically can use the Tier-Rack Stack Rack, or Tier Tire Racks.  These stackable racks allow companies to store tires vertically, creating "stacks" that safely and securely store tires.  These custom-designed racks allow for both safety and ease of access for storage of tires, creating a warehouse that employees can easily access their tires from.  This makes warehouses safer and more efficient, saving money and time, and protecting both your inventory and your employees.

Let us show you how our years of manufacturing experience can provide you with quality car tire racks at a very affordable price. We buy steel tubing directly from the tube mills in truckload quantities. Then our talented and efficient teams in our low overhead production facilities transform the steel tubing into high quality portable racks that have been designed to meet your needs. Custom Racks Could Solve Your Warehouse Puzzle

Tire Racks can help your business in a variety of ways.  Whether you are a wholesaler of tires, or a dealer directly to the consumer, or a distributor to large companies, an effective rack is essential to your workflow.  Unfortunately, a tire rack is not a one size fits all proposition.  This creates a conundrum for organizations that deal in many different sizes of tires, from consumer class passenger tires, to high performance sport tires, to trailer and industrial machine tires.  Custom racks are sometimes necessary to keep your inventory organized and accessable.

The essential furniture for a manufacturer of seller of tires can be acquired through a variety of means.  There are distributors and wholesalers across the world that can deliver a quality product, or a low price, or excellent customer service. There's one company, however, that excels in all three phases of this operation.  Tier-Rack, of St. Louis, MO, is the largest manufacturer of stack racks in the United States, and they're not a dealer, or someone else's distributor.  They are the first person you talk to when ordering, and they are the people you call for customer service.  They're the low-cost, high service alternative to re-sellers and distributors, who disappear when a problem arises.  Tier-Rack also creates custom designs, one of the advantages of being both sales and manufacturing.  They sub nothing out to fabricators or third party manufacturers, creating every rack themselves.  When customers need assistance with anything from engineering to local inspectors, Tier-Rack is there to help, and make sure that there is no interruption in your business.  All products from Tier-Rack are also proudly manufactured in the the United States, in our facilities, ensuring the highest quality and care goes into every rack.

Tier-Rack Corporation has been a leader in rack solutions and flexible warehouse racking systems for fifty years. The original Tier-Rack® pallet stacking frame converts regular warehouse pallets into sturdy storage racks in seconds without screws or bolts. And the Load-Nester® all-steel storage rack features light and heavy duty models of solid all-welded, knock-down, or nestable designs for all your material handling needs. Our stack racks reduce handling time, stack four to six high, and they are capable of supporting thousands of pounds per unit load. All styles of racking are engineered to meet and/or exceed the "2-to-1" safety factor established by the Rack Manufacturers Institute (RMI) for portable rack design specifications. A Cool Warehouse Is a Profitable Warehouse

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE

FACTORYRACKING1

It’s a hot summer.  Nothing slows down production like a heat wave in your warehouse.  Think about it though – couldn’t your warehouse run more efficiently and quickly if the workers are comfortable?  As anyone who runs a warehouse can tell you, being uncomfortable leads to rushing leads to mistakes.  Here are a few ways to deal with warehouse heat and humidity to help make your warehouse run more efficiently through the summer.

What can you do

  1. Install high-volume A/C units.  Fastest and safest method to reduce heat and humidity.  May not be as effective if you have large bay doors that are open constantly, and doesn’t help outdoor workers.
  2. Some machinery is prone to overheating.  Make sure that if you have conveyor belts or other machinery that doesn’t perform well in the heat, try to keep it in the cooler parts of the building.
  3. Know your employees and workforce.  Not everyone handles the heat as well as others.  If you have employees that have trouble with the heat, consider moving them to a cooler area or giving them frequent breaks.
  4. Watering stations can really help with cooldown.  Keep stations at regular intervals and assign employees and resources to keep them filled.  An employee with heatstroke is a serious matter.  Not just lost work time, but a human being hurt in your warehouse.  If you see signs of heatstroke, or your employees do, rectify that right away.  Tell your employees to watch for signs such as dizziness and loss of breath.
  5. Lock in the cool air. Vinyl strips can keep in as much as 60% of your cold air without disrupting the workflow of your warehouse.
  6. Industrial dehumidifiers are a huge comfort to employees. Taking the humidity down makes an immediate difference in the health and comfort of your workforce.

These are just some of the ways that you can make your warehouse more comfortable and effective.

Warehouse Racks Have Weight Limits. Obey Them!

CantileverPicture5

Overstacking a rack is dangerous. whether it's for tires, general goods, giant coils, grains, or whatever, there's a weight limit that your rack was built to specifications for.  This weight limit, however, isn't always easy for warehouse managers to convey to their employees, regarsless of how important it is to warehouse safety.  There may be a missing link in the chain of information, where the manager creates a sign which is covered by something else, or the lessons get lost in the shuffle of employee turnover.  However, this important lesson needs to be imparted at every level, as no company can afford for their inventory to crash to the floor.

Overstacking isn't the only problem though.  Racks can be weakened by collisions with forklifts, by improper stacking, by being in improper configurations or environments, or they may arrive in an unsatisfactory condition.  This last one, however, is one that Tier-Rack Corp can fix.  Every rack manufactured by Tier-Rack Corporation meets their highest safety and manufacturing specs, and are manufactured here, in the United States, of the finest metals and techniques at their manufacturing factories.

Tier-Rack Corporation has been a leader in rack solutions and flexible warehouse racking systems for almost sixty years. The original Tier-Rack® pallet stacking frame converts regular warehouse pallets into sturdy storage racks in seconds without screws or bolts. Truck Decking Racks Move Your Warehouse

002

When shipping products across the country, the most flexible solution is by truck.  Air, rail, and boat are all options, but a truck gives you the option to re-route, change, or swap product on the way.  No other way to move your products, whether from you to a customer or just from warehouse to warehouse, is more flexible.
When moving things by truck, they need to be secure.  There's no better way to make your truck a mobile warehouse with efficient and safe transport than truck decking racks.
Truck decking racks are designed to build into your truck a removable, flexible shelving and decking system that doubles the storage space by allowing you to stack product above and below shelves.  You can quit shipping air and completely cube out your truck (or rail car) with decking racks.
Using these racks can cut your truck use in half by doubling the amount of product that can be stored on the truck and filling up your shipping.
Who wouldn't want to send a full truck every time?
These racks are designed for standard trucks, but Tier-Rack can design and manufacture any rack for your business, from Shipping Racks to Tire Racks, and will work with you every step of the way to ensure that you are successful with your warehouse buildout and comfortable with your products. Tier-Rack is a full-service company, from the initial sales call through the final delivery.
Call Tier-Rack at 800-325-7869 or visit www.tier-rack.com today to stop shipping air and start sending fully loaded trucks with your products.  Make the most flexible method of shipping the most efficient by not wasting an inch of space in your truck.

Warehouse Racks Increase Your Workflow

Greentrucktires

Warehouse racks are the most important tool you can have in your storage facility.  They set the tone for how you can organize the space, and how you keep your product secured and stored.  Your warehouse racks build your workflow and inform how your traffic flows. They can determine how well your factory, store, or shipping center operate.
Don't believe me?  Try operating a warehouse with everything on the floor.  Work your product to trucks and customers with a disorganized wall of pallets.  It hampers productivity and keeps your company from profits.
In the warehouse or distribution center, Tier-Rack® warehouse racking saves space, time and money. Since our warehouse racks are portable, they can be easily moved to allow you to reconfigure your storage space anytime your storage needs change. A number of warehouse managers have said that they were skeptical about using portable racks at first, but that once they tried our stackable racks they became sold on the concept and would never use anything else.
How do our warehouse racks benefit our customers? One advantage of using Tier-Rack® portable racks is the ability to load incoming product directly on the stack racks. Once loaded, the warehouse rack can be moved by forklift trucks to the storage or work area and stacked for storage or put to use on the production line. This saves manpower and handling time, and often reduces the need for wooden pallets in the operation.
Another advantage mentioned is the ability to bulk store items. For seasonal merchandise that needs to be stored for a few months, the ability to fill an area with racks stacked up to five racks high and with few (or no) aisles means that a tremendous amount of product can be stored in a small amount of space.  When not in use, they can be condensed down tightly and stored out of the way.
Tier-Rack stacking warehouse storage rack is designed to meet your specifications. Whether you are storing items that weigh 1,000 pounds per pallet position or 6,000 pounds per pallet position, we will engineer a rack that will safely hold your load. Your handling needs are also considered during the design phase. Do you need to pick up the racks from all four sides, or just from the front and back? Do you need decking on the rack, or will you be loading only full pallet loads into the rack? Will you need more than one post height, or are all of your loads of a uniform height? Your answers to these and other questions will help us provide a warehouse rack system that will meet your operational needs for years to come.
In some instances, additional labor savings can be realized by moving two loaded warehouse storage racks at the same time. Please be sure to let us know if you wish to carry two loaded stack racks at the same time so we can engineer the racks to safely handle the additional live load.
Let us show you how our years of manufacturing experience can provide you with quality warehouse racks, warehouse shelving and warehouse storage bins at a very affordable price. We buy steel tubing directly from the tube mills in truckload quantities. Then our talented and efficient teams in our low overhead production facilities transform the steel tubing into high quality portable warehouse storage rack that has been designed to meet your needs. Give us a chance to prove to you that nobody does it better than Tier-Rack! Whether you need 100,000 racks or 10 racks, for bulk bags or automotive parts, Tier-Rack is your best choice for stacking warehouse racks.

However you store your tires, flat, on tread or laced, Tier-Rack can provide tire rack storage that won’t break your budget. Tire Racks were our original product, and the tire industry continues to be one of our important markets. While the 60” x 60” rack is still the most popular size, we also make many other sizes to meet your specific tire stacking rack needs.

Here are some of the different types of tire racks Tier-Rack can produce for you.

Choose the style of tire rack that works best in your operation. Add  perforated deck that meets fire codes by allowing water from overhead sprinklers to pass through to the stack racks below and protect the side walls. The ratio of holes to solid deck gives good support to the tires and will not leave marks on the tires in the portable rack.

Another style of stacking rack uses wire mesh decking. This decking is less expensive than perforated metal decking and has larger openings in the deck. This is a good option if your tires are in and out of your warehouse rack frequently and the wire deck doesn't have time to leave marks on your product. Naturally, the least expensive portable stack rack for tires has no decking at all. The inner and outer rack beams are located so they support the tires. This works best if you do not have people standing on the rack as they load or unload the tires, since the rack beams do not provide as secure a work surface as a deck does.Used Tire Racks

Our center post Tier-Rack® tire stacking frame is a popular alternative for those who appreciate the ease of loading and unloading tires when there are no obstructions on the corners of the stack racks. These tire racks are also the least expensive storage solution for tires  available. The frames easily attach to your existing warehouse pallets and will hold loads of 2,000 pounds per pallet when the racks are stacked five high.

If you need shipping containers for tires, we make a folding rack for the economical return of the LacingTiresempty racks. Since the posts are not removed from the rack, there is no concern about losing some posts during the return trip. As with all of our varieties of tire racks, these can be made for any size and load capacity that you need. These shipping racks can be designed with or without decking to meet your needs.  They are strong enough to withstand years of use and material handling.  The tire and rack combination is what all tire distributors must have to store tires effectively

Let us show you how our years of manufacturing experience can provide you with quality tire racks at a very affordable price. We buy steel tubing directly from the tube mills in truckload quantities. Then our talented and efficient teams in our low overhead production facilities transform the steel tubing into high quality steel tire racks that have been designed to meet your needs. Give us a chance to prove to you that nobody does it better than Tier-Rack! Whether you need 100,000 steel tire racks or 10 tire racks, Tier-Rack is your best choice for stackable tire racks.  Are you wondering on how to store tires, look at the gallery below for different options.

Refresh Your Warehouse For Spring

FACTORYRACKING1

A new warehouse is exciting and frustrating.  You get all of this new space, sure, but how should it be laid out?  Is the building you can afford the one you require?  Will it have your amenities and space to grow?  The most important question though, is how to lay it out.  Here are a few factors to examine as you develop your warehouse layout.

  • Equipment Size: Will your production machinery need more space than you anticipate, between its footprint and the employees that use it?
  • Get LEAN: This is a great time to restructure your operation.  Talk to the employees on the floor.  Ask them what they would change, how they would lay things out.  They’re there every day, ask them what would make the process more streamlined.
  • Height: Make sure that you have some vertical space, but not too much.  Stack Racks make it easier to utilize this space, but too much and you’re heating and cooling space for no reason.
  • Aisles: Start with measuring the size of your lift trucks.  Then give them adequate space on each side to get through.  Sounds like common sense, but we’ve been asked to design racks for companies that didn’t plan ahead and couldn’t get their trucks through.
  • Department Matters: You’re banking on your business growing, so why not build out in a way that can help facilitate that?  Make sure that every department has the room it needs to grow.  Often, one part of the operation ends up shortchanged (usually receiving) and it hurts the entire operation.

This doesn’t take into account all of the EHS factors of course, but it’s a great way to start getting your warehouse organized.

Let's Talk About Storage Racks

millwork1

Are you suffocating under your supply?  Is your warehouse a mess?  Do you feel like you’re just not organized, and it’s keeping your warehouse from being the efficient system that it should be?  You’re not alone.  Many companies are using outmoded storage systems that don’t give easy access to your products, or have flexible solutions to your particular warehouse space.
Proper shelving will make your company more profitable, simply by maximizing your space.  Who needs an expensive warehouse expansion, or a relocation to a new building?  Using racks that are portable gives you more ways to utilize your available space.  With more product on hand and a safe way to keep it organized, your operation can excel to new heights with the right shelving unit!
Here’s a quick look at some of the most popular types of industrial shelving to get you started.
Tier-Rack® portable racks are used by thousands of customers in hundreds of industries. Some of our customers use our portable stacking rack as standard warehouse racks, or as a stacking bin. In this case they place their product directly on our mobile rack and save the cost of wooden pallets.
The protection provided by the corner posts of the portable rack is a primary benefit. Bulky or hard-to-stack products are contained within the corner posts of the mobile storage racks. This provides stability for goods on the portable pallet when moving it within the warehouse or factory.
Others who use wood pallets and need to stack without causing product damage, find that our Tier-Rack® Pallet Stacking Frames fits their needs. The steel frame of the Tier-Rack® stacking rack clips onto the wood pallet, providing a secure “cage” that both allows the pallets to be safely stacked and protects the products within the rack enclosure.
Another use of portable storage racks is for handling work-in-process parts; a metal bin that holds several parts at one time, reducing plant traffic. They are custom racks designed to meet your needs, whether the parts to be handled are delicate or massive. Usually, these parts racks are designed as folding racks or collapsible racks.
Nestable racks are another type of portable stacking racks. These racks can be “nested”, or stacked inside of each other when empty, without removing the corner posts. Our Load-Nester® stacking racks nest when not in use, and carry and stack loads of 4,000 pounds per rack or more. This can be beneficial in an active warehouse where unused space is at a premium.
Whatever the application, whether it is for portable stack rack shipping racks, nesting racks, portable cart or warehouse storage racks – Tier-Rack has a portable stack rack that will do the job.  Tier-Rack Corporation has been a leader in rack solutions and flexible warehouse racking systems for almost sixty years. The original Tier-Rack® pallet stacking frame converts regular warehouse pallets into sturdy storage racks in seconds without screws or bolts. And the Load- Nester® all-steel storage rack features light and heavy duty models of solid all-welded, knock-down, or nestable designs for all your material handling needs. Our portable stacking racks and rack systems are designed to handle and store even the most fragile, odd-shaped, and awkward merchandise. They can be designed to transport two loads at a time. Our stack racks reduce handling time, stack four to six high, and they are capable of supporting thousands of pounds per unit load. All Tier-Rack racks are engineered with a "2-to-1" safety factor to ensure the racks will perform safely and last for decades.  For more information, visit www.tier-rack.com or call 800-325-7869 for more information, or to order your racks.
